  • JOHN PREWIT, 20, and WILLIAM PREWIT, 18 of Marion County, Arkansas. Young men working their way west as cattle drovers in hopes of fulfilling their dreams.
  • JAMES MATTHEW FANCHER, 25, and ROBERT FANCHER, 19 Years of Carrollton, Arkansas. Young men working as drovers on their cousin Alexander’s wagon train.
  • LAWSON A. MCENTIRE, 21, of Marion County, Arkansas. Young man working his way west as a cattle drover.

  • CHARLIE STALLCUP, 25, of Marion County, Arkansas. Young cattle drover who left wife Winnie Wood Stallcup in Arkansas while pursuing his dream.
  • RICHARD WILSON, 27, of Marion County, Arkansas. Young man working way west as Cattle Drover.
  • WILLIAM WOOD, 26, and SOLOMON WOOD, 20, of Marion County, Arkansas. On their way to California to make their fortune.

THERE WERE 17 SMALL CHILDREN WHO WERE SPARED BECAUSE OF A RELIGIOUS BELIEF THAT IT WAS WICKED TO SHED BLOOD OF CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT. THE OLDEST SURVIVOR WAS ONLY SIX AT TIME OF MASSACRE.
